Shaker-style cabinet doors have a recessed center panel, framed by four raised pieces. Those pieces join at 90-degree angles called “copeand-stick,” which make for a simpler constructi­on than doors with mitered frames. The Shaker style was developed by the Shakers, a community of Christians that came to America in the 1700s, and still has remnants in New England today.
