Eldred’s president and director of its fine art department Joshua Eldred says,“this August sale is one of the most diverse sales in recent memory, with wonderful examples in all collecting categories. So far this year we have seen a renewed interest in many areas including American furniture, so I am excited to see how the market reacts to the sale.” He also notes that the summer sale reflects the auction house’s decadelong effort to expand its painting department in both volume and quality.
