BOWDOIN COLLEGE MUSEUM OF ART
On view through August 19,
Made in Maine at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art features artworks created in Maine during the first half of the 20th century. Maine at the time was a favorite summer destination for artists from Boston and New York City, who were drawn to both its wild woods and rugged coasts. George Bellows, Marsden Hartley, Rockwell Kent, Andrew Wyeth and Marguerite Zorach all painted representations of the state and will be featured in the exhibition.
