With lus­cious leafy ten­drils to stark hori­zon lines, Hedda Sterne: Printed Vari­a­tions at the Amon Carter Mu­seum of Amer­i­can Art cel­e­brates the artist’s va­ri­ety of for­mal in­ter­ests. Though Sterne is most of­ten as­so­ci­ated with the “Iras­ci­bles,” who were avant-garde fore­run­ners to ab­stract ex­pres­sion­ism, she de­fied cat­e­go­riza­tion.the ex­hi­bi­tion, on view through Jan­uary 27, 2019, fea­tures two the­matic series com­pleted by the artists at the Tamarind Lithog­ra­phy Work­shop in 1976.
