Claude Monet’s Meules made auction history at Sotheby’s Impression­ist & Modern Art Evening Sale in May when it sold for $110,747,000.An illustriou­s work from Monet’s esteemed Haystack series shatters the previous record for the highest amount ever paid for a work by Monet. It also marks the first impression­ist work ever to rise past the $100 million threshold at auction.
