This spring’s Just Off Madison art walk of private dealer spaces on Newyork’s Upper East Side saw some of the biggest crowds in recent memory, with collectors, dealers, scholars and museum curators making the trek up and down Madison Avenue to enjoy the offerings from 14 of the top galleries in the American art field. From a new space on 80th Street across from The Met that now houses both Menconi + Schoelkopf and Driscoll Babcock, to Jonathan Boos on 64th Street, and GRAHAM SHAY 1857

and Taylor|graham on 67th Street, this year’s walk saw many new works of art from modernism to 19th-century classics. “We were mobbed on the evening of Just Off Madison,” says Betty Krulik, one of the organizers of the event.“it was a confluence of beautiful weather and lots of social media posts. Curators and museum directors, collectors and clients flowed through.the gallery looked fantastic with Avery Galleries showing great impressionistic works and Betty Krulik Fine Art showing a collection of Gorky drawings with colored pencil.” On 74th Street, Meredith Ward Fine

Art curated an exhibition titled Images of America, made up of 25 modernist works depicting American industries, cities, culture and landscapes. Included in the exhibition were works from artists such as Oscar Bluemner, Charles Burchfield, John Marin, Stefan Hirsch, Charles Sheeler and Charles Shaw. “This was one of the most wellattended events ever with curators, collectors and museum directors visiting from across the country,” says gallery owner Meredith Ward.
