RULE OF THREES
In survival situations, there is a general “rule of threes” that will help prioritize the steps to take in establishing and following your plan. Any kind of survival kit and knowledge base you establish should include items and topics focused directly on these basic needs.
While these rules vary by person and scenario, in general, the body can go— • Three minutes without air • Three hours without shelter • Three days without water • Three weeks without food
During a winter survival scenario, fire should be considered a part of your shelter plan. Exposure to the elements, such as cold, can turn any situation into a disaster.
