ANGLERS BOOTCAMP

-

Looking to sharpen your fishing skills? Anglers Bootcamp: The Basics of Saltwater Fishing might be just what you’re looking for. The online course is led by Anglers Journal editor-at-large John Brownlee, who is also the host of the successful Anglers Journal TV show on Discovery Channel. Anglers Bootcamp provides a comprehensive overview of the basic skills and components, from tactics and techniques to lures, leaders, rods and reels. Viewers receive a thorough primer in saltwater terminology, equipment and strategies.

“One of the best aspects of Anglers Bootcamp is that once you buy it, you own it, and you can refer back to it again and again to brush up on specific sections you want to know more about,” Brownlee says. “There’s a lot to know, but the course provides advice and instruction on a wide variety of topics. There’s something here for everyone.”

To sign up, visit boatersuniversity.com. Enrollment is $250. Use the special code AJVIP to save $25 when signing up.

I got my first issue of Anglers Journal at a boat show on Sanibel Island in Florida and have been hooked (no pun) ever since. Everything about the magazine is first class — the feel, the articles, the photography. “Drink Like a Fish, Fish Like a Man” was so interesting and well written that I wound up reading the entire issue.

It is such a pleasure to get comfortable and read something that’s not on my tablet or my phone; Anglers Journal is that pleasure.
