AND THE WINNER IS …

Anglers Journal won an Eddie award for best full issue in the Enthusiast/hobby category in the annual Folio: journalism and magazine-design contest. The award was presented at a dinner in New York City in October.

AJ won for the Fall 2017 issue, which was published with different covers for subscribers and newsstand readers. The subscriber cover shows a collection of old rods that belonged to a wonderful fisherman who had passed away. We told the story of the man’s fishing life through his tackle. The image was so striking that we didn’t want to put words all over it.

The other cover is a black-and-white photo of a striped bass dorsal fin. With plenty of room for cover words without taking away from the photograph, it proved to be a strong newsstand cover.

Anglers Journal has won several Folio: awards since it debuted five years ago. We’re proud to have such a talented team that puts together the magazine.
