Hitch a ride along with the team at Magic Light Pictures work­ing on their lat­est TV spe­cial, The Snail and the Whale!

We get to spend a day with the bril­liant team at Magic Light Pictures, the Os­car-nom­i­nated, BAFTA and Emmy-win­ning pro­duc­tion com­pany of spe­cials such as The Gruf­falo, Room on the Broom, Re­volt­ing Rhymes and Zog, as they wrap their lat­est an­i­mated spe­cial The Snail and the Whale.

12:30 p.m. Plan­ning the BBC One Christ­mas premiere of The Snail and the Whale, brand di­rec­tor Daryl Shute and pro­ducer Martin Pope dis­cuss the mar­ket­ing strat­egy.

3:30 p.m. Michael, Daniel, Max and Martin dis­cuss the fi­nal col­or­ful shots in The Snail and the Whale.

Magic Light’s new spe­cial The Snail and the Whale fea­tures Rob Bry­don, Sally Hawkins and Dame Diana Rigg.

10:30 a.m. The Magic Light of­fices are in full flow! Man­ag­ing all our de­vel­op­ment, pro­duc­tion, dis­tri­bu­tion, mar­ket­ing and li­cens­ing.

6 p.m. Time to sit back and re­lax! One last review be­fore the film is de­liv­ered to BBC One.

2:45 p.m. Be­fore de­sign­ing the next one! Our Mr. Panda plush to ac­com­pany our de­vel­op­ment of a preschool se­ries based on the books by Steve Antony.

11 a.m. An­i­ma­tion di­rec­tor Jeroen Jas­paert works on char­ac­ter de­sign for our up­com­ing preschool se­ries, Pip and Posy, based on Gruf­falo il­lus­tra­tor Axel Sch­ef­fler’s pop­u­lar books.

11:45 a.m. Jeroen meets with an­i­ma­tion de­vel­op­ment pro­ducer Vici King to take ev­ery de­tail from the books.

9 a.m. Sound de­signer Adrian Rhodes goes over the fine de­tails of the sound mix with the di­rec­tors Daniel Snad­don and Max Lang.

2:30 p.m. The team have a quick break with their fa­vorite cud­dly toys!

8 a.m. A bright and early start to the day! Di­rec­tor Daniel Snad­don chats to pro­ducer Michael Rose over cof­fee.

8-10 a.m. Max and Daniel are ab­sorbed by the sound mix.
