Round bas­ket: 6 hdc = 2 inches; 7 rows = 2 inches Oval bas­ket: 5 sc = 2 inches; 6 rows = 2 inches

Pat­tern Notes

Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. The en­tire piece is worked hold­ing 2 strands of yarn (1 of each color) to­gether. Work in con­tin­u­ous rounds un­less other­wise in­di­cated. Move mark­ers as rounds ad­vance. When tran­si­tion­ing from sin­gle cro­chet to half dou­ble cro­chet or dou­ble cro­chet in the round, there is no need to chain be­fore the first stitch. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less other­wise stated.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc. (12 sc)

Rnd 3: 2 sc in first sc, *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around. (18 sc)

Rnd 4: 2 sc in first sc, *sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around. (24 sc)

Rnd 5: 2 sc in first sc, *sc in each of next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around. (30 sc)

Rnd 6: 2 sc in first sc, *sc in each of next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around. (36 sc)

Rnd 1: Hold­ing 1 strand of each color tog (see Pat­tern Notes), ch 15, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch across, end­ing with 2 sc in last ch, do not turn, ch 1 (counts as a st), place marker (see Pat­tern Notes), work 2 sc in first un­used lp of beg ch, sc in each rem un­used lp across to last lp, 2 sc in last un­used lp. Do not join (see Pat­tern Notes). (33 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1 (counts as a st), place marker, 2 sc in first sc, sc to 1 st be­fore marked st, 2 sc in that st, sc in marked st, 2 sc in next st, sc in each st to 1 st be­fore marked st, 2 sc in that st. (37 sc)

Rnd 3: Sc in marked st, 2 sc in next sc, sc to 1 st be­fore marked st, 2 sc in that st, sc in marked st, 2 sc in next st, sc in each st to 1 st be­fore next marker, 2 sc in that st. (41 sc)
