Cut­ting From dark pink solid:

• Cut 6 (11/4" by fab­ric width) H/I flange strips.

From green solid:

• Cut 2 (37/8" by fab­ric width) strips. Sub­cut strips into 20 (37/8") E2 squares.

From cream/pink flo­ral:

• Cut 2 (67/8" by fab­ric width) strips. Sub­cut strips into 10 (67/8") B1 squares.

From cream-with-pale-green plaid:

• Cut 2 (37/8" by fab­ric width) strips.

Sub­cut strips into 20 (37/8") E1 squares.

• Cut 7 (21/2" by fab­ric width) bind­ing strips.

From pink polka-dot flo­ral:

• Cut 2 (67/8" by fab­ric width) strips.

Sub­cut strips into 10 (67/8") B2 squares.

• Cut 6 (31/2" by fab­ric width) F/G strips.

From white solid:

• Cut 4 (67/8" by fab­ric width) strips.

Sub­cut strips into 20 (67/8") A squares.

• Cut 7 (31/2" by fab­ric width) strips.

Sub­cut strips into 80 (31/2") C squares.

• Cut 4 (37/8" by fab­ric width) strips.

Sub­cut strips into 40 (37/8") D squares.

Com­plet­ing the Blocks

1. Mark a di­ag­o­nal line from cor­ner to cor­ner on the wrong side of each A and D square.

2. Place an A square right sides to­gether with a B1 square and stitch 1/4" on each side of the marked line as shown in Fig­ure 1.

3. Cut the stitched unit apart on the marked line to make two A-B1 units as shown in Fig­ure 2; press seams to­ward B1.

4. Re­peat steps 2 and 3 to make a to­tal of 20 A-B1 units.

5. Re­peat steps 2 and 3 with A and B2 squares to make 20 A-B2 units, press­ing seams to­ward B2 and re­fer­ring to Fig­ure 3.

6. Re­peat steps 2 and 3 with D and E1 to make 40 D-E1 units and with D and E2 to make 40 D-E2 units re­fer­ring to Fig­ure 4.

7. To com­plete one Shabby Ro­mance block, select one each A-B1 and A-B2 unit, two each D-E1 and D-E2 units, and four C squares.

8. Sew C to the E side of each D-E1 and D-E2 unit to make two each C-D-E1 and C-D-E2 units as shown in Fig­ure 5; press seams to­ward C.

9. Join one each C-D-E1 and C-D-E2 unit to com­plete a block quar­ter as shown in Fig­ure 6; press seam to one side. Re­peat to make a sec­ond unit.

10. Sew one block quar­ter to an A-B1 unit and the sec­ond block quar­ter to the A-B2 unit to make block rows as shown in Fig­ure 7; press seams to­ward A-B1 and A-B2 units.

11. Join the block rows to com­plete one Shabby Ro­mance block; press seam to one side.

12. Re­peat steps 7–11 to com­plete a to­tal of 20 blocks.
