Cutting From each of the 5 accent fabrics:

• Cut 2 (14" by fabric width) strips. Subcut strips into 4 (14") squares and 2 (71/4") squares. Cut the 14" squares on both diagonals to make 16 M triangles. Cut the 71/4" squares in half on 1 diagonal to make 4 N triangles.

• Cut 8 (21/4" by fabric width) binding strips.

• Cut from remaining fabric length: 2 (51/2" x 641/4") O strips, 2 (51/2" x 741/4") P strips and 2 (91/2" x 80") L strips. Subcut L strips into 16 (91/2") L squares.

4. Repeat steps 1–3 to complete a total of 25 Log Cabin blocks.

Completing the Quilt

Arrange and join the Log Cabin blocks with the L squares and the M and N triangles in diagonal rows referring to the Assembly Diagram; press seams in adjacent rows in opposite directions. Note: The colored halves of the Log Cabin blocks alternate from top to bottom in this layout to create the up-and-down design.

2. Join the rows as stitched to complete the quilt center; press.

3. Sew O strips to opposite sides and P strips to the top and bottom of the quilt center to complete the quilt top; press.
