Thanks, Vern

to Dennis Anderson for his excellent tribute to Vern Lawson.

Thanks also to Vern Lawson for his Vernacular column.

I have enjoyed it weekly for over 20 years now.

If my math is correct, Vern is on the backside of his 90s now and still cranking out excellent columns every week.

I don’t know how many other people can say that, but I’m sure it’s not many.

I’ve read in Bill Warford’s column that Vern Lawson wants to be writing columns at 100.

I once hoped that I would live to be 98. I can see Vern set his sights even higher.

I believe he will get there and I will be glad to bring the champagne (the real stuff from France) to celebrate when that milestone happens.

Keep going, Vern! You are an inspiration to me and many others.

Thank you for your longevity, positive outlook and sense of humor in this world of short sightedness, micro-aggressions and negativities.

The Antelope Valley
