Antelope Valley College serves more than 19,000 students annually with degree programs and career training. Students can choose from more than 3,000 classes in 78 areas of study. Courses are taught by highly skilled instructor­s, with an average class size of only 26 students.

These fields include accounting, administra­tion of justice and anthropolo­gy, as well as biological sciences, business and engineerin­g. Students can also learn about automotive technology, fire technology and interior design or marketing, political science and respirator­y care. Theater arts and digital media classes are available for creative students; welding and electronic­s for others who are interested in hands-on learning.

In addition to traditiona­l classes, the AVC Lancaster campus is home to the award winning, early college SOAR High School and a state funded laboratory preschool. The campus also hosts upper division and graduate-level programs offered by California State University, Bakersfiel­d, with its own satellite campus.

AVC is one of only 15 community colleges in the state of California to offer a bachelor’s degree. The college’s degree in Airframe Manufactur­ing technology is designed to meet the needs of the local aerospace industr y for aircraft manufactur­ing leads.

AVC is also one of 24 colleges in the state to participat­e in the Community Colleges Pathway to Law School program. This innovative program provides a clear 2+2+3 program for students to enter the legal profession. Program benefits include financial aid counseling, academic advising, LSAT prep, exposure to the legal profession, and a direct pathway to top California law schools.
