Outrageous behavior

Outrageous! So now Ms. Ruffin and Ms. Parrell choose to further ruin the Antelope Valley

Unified High School District by not showing up for the Board meetings.

It seems they will stop at nothing to disrupt any business that the Board NEEDS to address. Even with direct orders from Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools Debra Duardo to call a meeting for Tuesday evening.

What is their excuse? None! Ruffin and Parell are required to attend these meetings, Especially upon direct orders from the superintendent of schools.

This direct disobedience should cause them to be removed from office. And I hope that Superintendent Duardo will actually appoint a clerk to serve as officer in charge until Ruffin and Parrell can be removed from their positions on the Board.

Surely AV School Superintendent David Vierra can choose new Board members. Surely Mayor Rex Parris can insure that order will prevail at these meetings.

Ruffin and Parrell have abandoned their positions. Only Jill McGrady and John Rush are acting with responsibility, and yes, even the student representative Elijah Johnson managed to attend — during finals.

At least the teachers and staff of the high schools care and are teaching and working with our students during this ridiculous, infantile acting out of Ruffin and Parrell for not getting “their way” — whatever that is, besides paying expensive lawyers from Los Angeles to sleep through the board meetings.

Thank God for the teachers and staff of our high schools. Let’s choose some of them to fill the three vacant positions on the AVUHSD Board. Patty Akkad
