Antelope Valley Senior Services and the Santa Clarita Valley Committee on Aging offer meals to senior citizens 60 and older for $3.50 (at the nutrition sites and for homedelive­red meals) at these locations:

Antelope Valley Senior Center, 777 West Jackman

St., Lancaster.

Legacy Commons for Active Seniors, 930 East Ave. Q-9, Palmdale.

Jackie Robinson Park, 8773 East Ave. R, Sun Village. Stephen Sorensen Park, 16801 East Ave. P, Lake Los Angeles.

Reservatio­ns are required for nutrition sites except the Antelope Valley Senior Center.To make reservatio­ns, attend the sites to sign up for the senior meal program. Doors open for reserved clients at 10 a.m. at the Senior Center and Legacy Commons, and 10:30 a.m. at Jackie Robinson Park and Sorensen Park.

A 24-hour advance signup is required for site managers to reserve a meal in your name at all sites except the Senior Center.

Meals are served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Lancaster site, 10 a.m. to noon at Palmdale, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jackie Robinson and Sorensen parks. Coffee is available at all sites for free.

Home-delivered meals are available to seniors who are high-risk and confined to their homes. You must be home to receive the meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For details, call 661948-2320.

Beef rogan Josh — simmered beef curry of aromatic spices, garlic and ginger in a creamy yogurt sauce.

Curried egg salad sandwich — house-made curried egg salad served on an artisan whole grain roll.

Monday, December 30

Pork au Champignon­s — French simmered pork with carmelized onions, mushrooms, vegetables and wine. Tuesday, December 31

Pasta bolognese — Italian noodles topped with slowsimmer­ed sauce and elegantly seasoned ground beef. Wednesday, January 1

New Year’s Day; no meals served.

Thursday, January 2

Creamy primavera Tuscan chicken pasta — cream sauce with broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and peas.

Friday, January 3

Pescado Veracruz — classic Veracruz sauce with diced tomato, capers and fresh herbs over roasted fish.

Monday, January 6

Creamy chicken pasta alfredo — savory coconut alfredo sauce tossed in chicken and penne pasta.

Kern County

The Kern County Aging and Adult Services offers meals for senior citizens at Rosamond, California City and Tehachapi.

Rosamond: Hummel Hall, 2500 20th St. West, 661256-0557.

California City: California City Senior Center, 10221 Heather Ave., 760-373-4585.

Tehachapi: Tehachapi Senior Center, 500 East F St., 661-822-6255.

Meals are $2 for seniors 60 and older, $5 for nonseniors. Reservatio­ns are required and must be made at least one day in advance.

All meals include margarine, decaffeina­ted coffee and milk.
