Event slated to dis­cuss men­tal health and help

PALM­DALE — A dis­cus­sion of the in­ter­sect­ing roles of men­tal health and faith-based or­ga­ni­za­tions is planned for Satur­day at Christ Church of the Val­ley, 2714 East Ave. R.

The event will be 8 a.m. to noon at the church. The event will be pre­sented by Christ Church of the Val­ley with the Los An­ge­les County Depart­ment of Men­tal Health.

Pan­elists will in­clude Pas­tor Vaughn Win­ters of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Palm­dale, Pas­tor Corey Sax­ton of Christ Church of the Val­ley, Co-Pas­tor Dorelle Arn­wine of Pre­vail­ing Word Chris­tian Church in Lan­caster, Dr. Ja­son Plun­kett of Zoe In­ter­na­tional in Santa Clarita and Pas­tor Billy Net­tles of The High­lands Chris­tian Fel­low­ship in Palm­dale.

The event’s or­ga­niz­ers said the goal is to cre­ate di­a­logue among ser­vice providers, faith-based or­ga­ni­za­tions and friends and fam­i­lies of peo­ple with men­tal chal­lenges.
