Disarmament

There are many ways to acquire firearms, the easiest is to be a lawful citizen and go through the processes, but the other is to steal, cheat, manufacture, or import illegally whatever you can, and that gives cartels and others a new category of business and income streams, after all, we are so successful with the “War on Drugs,” right?

There are several well executed studies that demonstrate the futility of the common sense laws on firearms, and they are actually based on models that have some validity, as opposed to those that are based on feeling good about their efforts.

An example of the “common sense” laws in California is that they require handguns to be on an approved list based on a few of the characteristics that are irrelevant, but allows the anti-firearm politicians that run the state to think that they are doing something to rid the state of firearms, and they are, except for the crooks who have no compunction about those laws.

It is really an ill disguised attempt at disarming everyone but them. Any of us that looked at the history of the world and the disarmament of various populations that have resulted in the Holocaust in Germany, the extermination of millions in Stalin’s Russia, many millions more in Mao’s China, Pol Pots regime in Cambodia, over 130 million in those areas and that does not include the latter day despots like Castro, Chavez and assorted despots in South America and all of those in the African nations.

Firearms control is ultimately about control of the people, not about the firearms.
