Try doing something good

Sadly, the new year has started much like the old year finished: Folk dying in car accidents, some cause by those who, for whatever reason, have to drink and drive, break-ins into homes, businesses, even churches and charities — one — Grace Resources, twice and sadly, they couldn’t be much closer to the LA County Sheriff ’s Dept.

Maybe LA County needs to have downtown walking, up to four officers beats, evenings of course. The liberals will say too costly. Too much cop, besides, we will just slap their wrists if they are caught, so the businesses should get better locks, etc. Sadly, until it is a liberals house, car, business, wife or kid, nothing will be done.

If the crooks had only asked for help, Grace Resources

would have gladly given, but no, that isn’t what fools do. And since most of the folk who donate are church folk, once again, they will gladly donate.

All you leftist, elitist, liberal haters of anyone who questions our opinions rarely donate, try doing some good this year. Drop off groceries, blankets, gloves, hats, yes, even $10 goes a long way, to Grace Resources. You will be a better person for helping someone in dire need.

I resolve to help. Hopefully many others will do likewise. Poverty, lack, homelessness, knows no political thoughts, no skin color, no gender, no age, no religion. Just wants and needs.

I don’t recall

recent VP edition contained a picture of a woman, on the steps of the Washington Capitol Building, holding up a large sign that read: “Let The WITNESSES SPEAK” (referring to the looming impeachment trial in the

US Senate).

Funny, I don’t recall seeing her with that sign during the House impeachment investigations where key Republican witnesses were not allowed to speak.

‘Eye in the sky’ isn’t working

The daily Crime Blotter and map printed in the Valley Press is the best indicator of why Lancaster has the highest crime rate of any Antelope Valley community.

The most vulnerable neighborhoods are on the Westside close to the freeway offramps and Lancaster Blvd. The majority of crimes are burglary, robbery and theft.

As a resident in a senior apartment complex on 15th street West for 18 years, I am familiar with the deterioration of the complex and neighborhood. From my third story balcony, I saw the expensive “eye in the sky” airplane contacted to patrol Lancaster from the heavens above by Mayor R Rex Parris and his political allies.

The airplane is not cost effective and Palmdale realized that years ago when Parris tried to engage our neighbors to share the expense and was not successful.

It is time for Lancaster to have new leadership that will invest tax dollars wisely and have more patrol cars with trained men and women from the sheriff department protecting and patrolling every neighborhood with the support of a helicopter when appropriate.

I am thankful I moved to Palmdale last December. D. Dianne Adams
