‘Har­riet’ fea­tured as mid-week movie

PALM­DALE — The Palm­dale City Li­brary, lo­cated at 700 E. Palm­dale Blvd., con­tin­ues its Mid-Week Movies pro­gram with a show­ing of the movie “Har­riet” (2019), rated PG-13, at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 5, in honor of Black His­tory Month. Ad­mis­sion and pop­corn are free.

“Har­riet” brings to life the har­row­ing and heroic story of famed abo­li­tion­ist Har­riet Tub­man (new ac­tress and Golden Globe nom­i­nee Cyn­thia Erivo), who es­caped from slav­ery her­self and went on to free hun­dreds of oth­ers through her work with the Un­der­ground Rail­road.

The Li­brary hosts a free show­ing of fea­tured films ev­ery Wed­nes­day evening.

Up­com­ing movies sched­uled to be shown in­clude “The Pro­posal” (2009) rated PG-13, on Feb. 12; “Blinded by the Light” (2019), rated PG-13 on Feb. 19 and “The Ring “(2002), rated PG-13 on Feb. 26.
