Supervisors could extend rewards
LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, on Tuesday, will consider extending two $20,000 rewards in two unrelated Antelope Valley crimes — the 2015 disappearance of a Littlerock woman and the 2016 killing of an R. Rex Parris High School student in Palmdale.
Supervisor Kathryn Barger will recommend extending a $20,000 county reward, set to expire Feb. 21, for information on the suspicious disappearance of then28-year-old Monique Figueroa, who was last seen by
her father, driving away from her Littlerock home in the 7200 block of East Ave. U-12 around 4 a.m., May 19, 2015.
Her car, a 2004 burgundy Mercedes-Benz, was recovered 11 days later in an abandoned shed in Juniper Hills.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigators believe Figueroa disappeared under suspicious circumstances and there is a good likelihood foul play was involved.
She left her two-yearold daughter in the care of her family, who reported her missing several days after she left home.
Barger will also recommend extending a $20,000 county reward, which is set to expire Wednesday, in the killing of 17-year-old “Jay” Quinn.
He was found
Jaquarius unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso about 8:30 p.m., Nov. 6, 2016, in the 2300 block of Old Harold Road in Palmdale.
Quinn was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Sheriff’s investigators said he shared an early Sunday dinner with family members, who last saw him about 5 p.m. on the day he was killed.
He was subsequently found on the roadway by witnesses who stopped and called for aid.
The R. Rex Parris High School 11th-grader’s hobbies included playing flag football with his friends, drawing, cooking and dancing. He was hoping to become an actor.
