What’s the issue?

Antelope Valley Press - - OPINION -

Regarding the issue of calling witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump, since the Senate Republicans are bound and determined to vote to acquit Trump anyway, why not allow the witnesses to appear so the American people can hear what they have to say, then after they appear, the Republicans can vote to acquit.

That way, all the cards would be on the table and the American people could go from there.

Since it takes 67 senators to convict the president and we know that’s not going to happen, then there should be no problem calling the witnesses. So what’s the problem?
