Pandering

-

Pandering is defined in several dictionaries as ”to indulge a desire to supply a perceived need or habit.” It is sometimes used to describe supplying what you think people need in order to get something in return.

In John Stossel’s column in today’s (2/2/20) Valley Press, he discusses the pandering by the democrat candidates for president, Pandering is their game and that’s about all they have to offer.

It seems like a contest to see who can promise the most. Their promises include free college tuition, free child care, free money for minorities,, cancellation of student debt, free medical care for all, free stuff for illegals, gun control, and more. If in-acted, it all would cost trillions of dollars that no one has.

Wouldn’t you think that candidates for president would talk about governing this country? I’d like to know how they would deal with trade talks, immigration, the middle east, our military forces, the crumbling infrastructure, drugs, the environment, murder on the streets, the border, etc? Things that really matter.

Bernie is too old, Joe Biden doesn’t seem to have the heart for the job, Warren reminds me of my first grade Sunday school teacher, and Buttigieg is too inexperienced. Bloomberg and Steyer are just running against Trump and want to buy their way into the white house.

I cannot imagine Bernie or Warren standing up to Putin or Xi of China in a tough negotiation. They don’t have the skills nor stature for it.

I think we all should support the president who has actually done some of what he promised. The democrats have been obsessed in their dislike of our president while doing little or nothing for the citizens who elected them.
