Saint Mary’s School plans events for 60th anniversary
PALMDALE — Saint Mary’s School, 1600 East Ave. R-4, is planning a variety of activities to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
The celebrations begin Aug. 15 with a 5:30 p.m. Mass followed by a light reception.

A community block party is planned from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19. A 60th anniversary Autum Festival is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the school and on the parish campus.
Jan. 31 brings an open house and feast of St. John Bosco Celebration. During the open house, alumni, friends, family members, students, parishioners and community members can take a tour of the school, see student work, participate in raffles, learn more about St. John Bosco and celebrate the anniversary.
The 60th anniversary gala takes place April 24 at the parish hall. The gala is a way to recognize the many individuals who have helped build the school over the years.
The start time has not been determined. The school also is asking alumni to join its alumni network, which provides information about anniversary activities, newsletters and updates about the school. Alumni can join the network by visiting the school Web site, going to the “Alumni” tab under “About” section and filling out the contact form.
