Arguing race, politics

-

In Mr. White’s letter this week, he revealed to me why we have such varying opinions of race relations in our great country.

He stated, “Writing that Trump is making America great again when he is racist ignores our feelings”. Racism is not a feeling and President Trump is not racist.

In my opinion racism requires some sort of action or perhaps inaction. For example, if someone is assaulted just because of their race that is racism or are refused service because of their race I think we can agree that is racist. This is just as wrong when whites are singled out as well. If racism is a feeling why not just stop having those feelings. Would it go away, I think not.

Monday Guy Marsh felt compelled to chime in with his socialist view with: O’Connor: “You can’t paint all white people with the same brush…”

Guy Marsh: ”I agree. Yet the odds of a white male Republican or Right Libertarian not being racist are so low as to be statistically meaningless…” I have to laugh; you agree? Then go on to malign all white male Republicans and Libertarians as racist. You didn’t bother with a brush you used a power sprayer. This begs the question, if I switch parties I will no longer be considered a racist?

He continues on with the usual Socialist dribble bla bla bla Capitalism bad Socialism good. Minorities have not done well under Socialism.

It would be wise for any minority to be careful in forming an alliance with Socialists. In addition to racism, early socialist writings contained explicit calls for genocide of “backward peoples” as they see them. The toxic mix of those two intolerant ideas would result in at least 80 million deaths during the course of the 20th century. Jack O’Connor
