In reaction to my statement, “[T]he odds of a white male Republican or right-wing Libertarian not being racist are so low as to be statistically meaningless,” Harold Holifield wrote, in part, If you are white you are automatically presumed to be a racist until you can prove you are a liberal, then you are automatically exempt.”

As the readership can see, however, I didn’t say that all white people are racist. Nor did I state that white liberals are automatically exempted from being racist. As the American socialist and founder of the Socialist Labor Party of America, Daniel DeLeon wrote, “To scratch a liberal is to find a reactionary.”

What that means is that, while lacking class consciousness, of which most liberals are guilty, liberals are prone to the belief that one should not be a racist simply because it is the decent thing to do. As commendable as such a sentiment surely is, it ignores the obvious need for all workers to unite with one another to thwart the socially illegitimate power of their capitalist exploiters.

Accordingly, the average white liberal is a pink slip removed from being a rabid racist. After all, liberalism is a pro-capitalist ideology that does not promote the dire need for class consciousness amongst workers.

Finally, Curt Redecker asked if I could produce statistics that would substantiate my assertion that most white male Republicans are racist.

According to a survey conducted in 2016, 57% of white Americans hold the idiotic belief that discrimination against white people is ‘as big a problem’ as discrimination against minorities.” And, since a large percentage of that 57% is represented by white male Republicans, it only stands to reason that those white males are racist.
