Fox News said so

It is time to stop the shutdown of the economy, open schools and businesses and get on with life. The Blue state governors, California included, are demonstrating their wish to control your life; can’t go to church or to your “non-essential job” but protesting, demonstrating, rioting and looting are okay.

Look at the right data and choose rational action. Stop looking at tallies of the “number of cases” or “number of tests” of Covid-19 and look at metrics that matter, hospitalizations, ICU patients and deaths per capita. This will allow comparison of how other country’s efforts to beat the virus compare to ours.

For example, compare data from Sweden to that of the USA. As of 8/23/20, Sweden logged 575 deaths per million population, and USA logged 545 deaths per million population, 5 percent greater than USA, but had taken no shutdown efforts that would ruin their economy. See data at worldometers.info.

From Fox News: “Swedish officials declined to implement strict lock-down measures widely adopted in Europe. Large gatherings were banned, but restaurants and schools for young children have stayed open. The Swedish government has urged social distancing, and citizens have largely complied.”

“We’ve actually seen a clearly declining trend in the number of patients in intensive care and also in the number of deaths since the middle of April,” said Anna Mia Ekström, clinical professor of global infectious disease epidemiology at Stockholm’s Karolinksa Institute.”

Blue state governors, along with teachers unions, want to keep schools and the economy shutdown, infringing on your rights, through the election season to improve Biden’s chances for election.
