A loving husband and father, passed away from this life on January 11, 2021. Through much pain and suffering, his lifelong faith in God never wavered. He was born on August 17, 1946, on Tremaine Ranch, near Gilbert, Arizona. He came with his family to Watsonvill­e, Calif. as a young child. He was the fifth of six children born to Bernardo and Rita (Cordova) Ybarra. He started working part-time jobs when he was nine years old. He delivered the local newspaper, worked in the fields, did custodial work, labor pool work, dishwashin­g and bellhop positions.

He graduated from Watsonvill­e High School and then attended Cabrillo College. He joined the US Air Force in 1967 and was sent to Amarillo, Texas for basic speciality training. He spend one year in Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam. After Vietnam, he spent the remaining years of service at Edwards AFB, Calif. This is where he met his wife, Noreen (Horner), whom he married in 1970 and celebrated 50 years of marriage with. They had four children: Michael (Candice), Rebecca (Ken), Christophe­r, and Ethan (Lindsay). They had seven grandchild­ren: Justin, Ryan, Liam P., Liam E., Colton, Ryder, and Irelyn. He also leaves behind two brothers: Bernie (Francis), and Jesse (Margie), and brother-in-laws: Ruben Pacheco, Jack (Peggy) Horner and Rob Horner, two sisterin-laws: Anita Ybarra, and Dora Ybarra, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

After the Air Force, he completed his college at Cal Poly, Can Luis Obispo, graduating in 1976, and began working in real estate, and later for the US Postal Service. He enjoyed both ocean and stream fishing, camping, hunting, cooking, and barbecuing. He loved visiting with other veterans and said if he could, he would go back and serve again.

Arrangemen­ts are being handled by Joshua Memorial Park and Cemetery. Outdoor services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lancaster, Friday January 22. Rosary at 9:30 a.m., Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., Burial immediatel­y following at Joshua Memorial Park. www.dignitymem­orial.com
