Delta is a three-year-old altered male Siberian husky that came to the Palmdale Animal Care Center in December. He was seen running on 40th Street East of Palmdale. He was not microchipped and the person who brought him in could not care for him. Delta is a nice and friendly dog. He allowed being examined and he was readily seeking attention. During his time in the play yard, Delta was glad to see his handler. He had a relaxed body but didn’t hesitate to try to dash out of the kennel. He was compliant when he was told to relax and his handler was able to put a leash on him. He pulled a little while walking out of the kennel area. As he approached the pen, he was a little weary of being near other dogs but relaxed easily. He displayed a gentle and dainty play style. Although he allowed being sniffed, he tried to avoid other dogs in the play yard at first, trying to not to have direct contact with them. He returned to exploring the yard and was not bothered by a male shepherd trailing him to sniff. He approached the handlers on numerous occasions seeking affection. He started to relax further while in the yard and started walking with the other dogs. Delta is recommended to a home with children middle school-aged or older. He seemed to be OK with being around large dogs.
