God references

In Guy Marsh’s letter of 11/5/22 he states that the Constitution and Bill of Rights (part of the Constitution) make no mention of God.

But he dismisses The Declaration of Independence, which precedes The Constitution. It makes reference to “God,” our “creator,” and “a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence.”

The Declaration of Independence was signed by more men and states than the Constitution which, by the way, references “the year of our Lord.”

And I would guess that you may be carrying something around in a pocket that states “In God we trust.”

At any rate, I always find your letters knowledgeable and entertaining.
