-

Spot Blue is a three-year-old, white, altered, male Siberian Husky that was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center in September. Spot Blue has one of the longest stays at the center. He was nervous when he first came but didn’t show any aggression. He allowed being handled and soon relaxed. He has shown a gentle and dainty play style, social and non-reactive with other dogs. He was easy to take and bring back to his kennel, as well as friendly with volunteers and his handlers. While being pulled for play time, Spot Blue greeted the animal handler at the gate with soft eyes, a relaxed body and a neutral tail wag. As his handler stood at the gate, he excitedly pawed at it. The handler opened the gate and was able to easily loop leash him. As he made his way to the kennel, he walked ahead of the runner with a light pull on the lead. When he

arrived at the pen, he confidently approached the fence and exchanged good nose-to-nose greetings with multiple dogs. He had soft eyes, a wiggly body and a neutral tail. The handler called him over and he sat at her feet, allowing her to easily place the collar on her. When he entered the yard, he was approached by a male Doberman. Blue tolerated the Doberman lingering and sniffing his body. As Blue walked away the Doberman pawed at his side and his back. Blue tolerated the pawing without a reaction. As he explored, a handler knelt down and presented his hand; Blue briefly walked by and sniffed the hand. After a few minutes, he acclimated to the yard, approaching others and exchanging good greetings. He remained social and tolerant for the duration of his yard time. Spot Blue is recommended to a home with middle school-aged children and calm dogs. To meet Spot Blue, visit the center during its public hours of 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., daily, and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays.
