-

Sniper is an eight-year-old, black, altered, male Doberman Pinscher that was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as an owner surrender due to no home. During his intake examination, he was very friendly, calm and quiet. Sniper was easy to handle and was easily vaccinated and leashed. He was seeking the attention from his animal handler and the medical staff. Sniper had a gentle and dainty play style and was social and non-reactive being around other dogs. The handler opened the gate and he attempted to door dash. But Sniper later walked into the loop leash and willingly continued to exit the kennel. He walked to the catch pen with a moderate pull on the leash. When Sniper arrived, he approached the fence and exchanged soft greeting with multiple dogs. The handler called him over and easily placed a collar around his neck. When Sniper entered the yard, he approached a male Jindo that was timidly sitting in a corner of the yard. As he lingered by the Jindo’s face, he turned and gave Sniper an air snap warning. Sniper respected the warning and gave him space. He approached all the dogs that he would come across as he was exploring the yard. Sniper approached a male Husky and play bowed at his feet. The Husky accepted the invite and the pair engaged in a game of chase. After a few minutes of play, Sniper broke away and approached a handler in the yard. He leaned into the handler wanting affection. Sniper remained social and tolerant for the duration of his yard time. He preferred a gentle/dainty play style. Sniper is recommended to a home with middle school-aged children and was observed to do well with large dogs. To meet and interact with him, visit the center during its public hours of 2 to 5 p.m., daily and 2 to 7 p.m., Wednesdays.
