Smith is an eight-month-old, brindle and white, neutered Dutch shepherd mix that came to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as a stray. He has been at Palmdale a month. Since Smith is a puppy, he is full of boundless energy. He is a sweet and silly boy. Medical noted he was “hyper, playful, sociable and easily handleable.” He had a wiggly body, jumping up seeking attention, and approaches readily. Due to his exuberant puppy energy, he may not be suitable with smaller dogs. Once out of the kennel, he had to run to get out his puppy “zoomies.” He was very treat-motivated, and he took the treats gently. After he was able to run for a bit, he became relaxed and focused on the handler. He was willing to learn sit and wanting to learn other tricks. He actively sought out attention. To meet him, visit the center during its public hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Pumpkin is an 11-month-old, fawn and white, neutered male pit bull mix that came to the Lancaster Animal Care Center as an owner surrender after the owner moved. He is friendly with dogs, cats and people and has been kenneled with other dogs. He was easily handled during his intake exam and takes treats gently. Pumpkin knows the commands sit, lie down and come. His previous owner stated that he is good in the car, walks well on a leash, is playful with children and is very well behaved. Gracie is a two-year-old spayed female domestic shorthair. She was surrendered to the care center due to her family having to move. Gracie is sweet and gentle — she runs up to the kennel window to say hello and get some love. This super model loves to chat. She enjoyed her time in the cat solarium staring out of the windows and daydreaming. Gracie is ready for adoption. To visit her, visit the center during its public hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Sugar is a nine-month-old, tan and white, spayed pit bull mix that has been at the Lancaster Animal Care Center since July. She is a very friendly girl that is easy to handle and does well with other dogs and people. Sugar has a happy puppy energy and always has a wiggly body and tail to share. She has been kenneled with other dogs and has done well adapting to the center atmosphere. Sugar is an affectionate sweetheart that loves to give kisses and cuddles. Niner is an 11-month-old, neutered, brown and white American bulldog mix that has been at the Lancaster Animal Care Center since the beginning of July. He is a happy puppy that was easily handled by clinic staff during his intake exam. He has been kenneled with other dogs and got along well with no issues. He loves giving kisses and receiving affection. He would make the perfect couch buddy that would still love to go for a hike with you. Niner gets along with people and dogs alike.
