Youth don’t respect authority

-

In response to Vincent White’s Sept. 30 letter: Today’s minority youth are brought up to believe they are and will always be victims resulting in youths showing no respect for persons of authority.

Many bad contacts, not all with police, are caused by people who feel race is the only reason why they were stopped even while committing vehicle infractions.

You said, “Over the years, I began hearing stories about police officers treating minorities unfairly.” You mean to tell me, being Black, you were never stopped because of color and treated unfairly by police? What a surprise.

Long gone are the days of innocence. During the 1960s, TV shows were a reflection of that innocence. But no more. We live in a violent society our sports and movies are full of violence. Violent graphic video games are teaching our youth that acts of violence are acceptable. I call it kids in training.

Children imitate what they see and hear. Today’s youths are a reflection of our current society.

I repeat, it all starts in the home.

Fentanyl is the leading cause of death among people. Lack of action in refusing to act is crazy.

Some of the most-law abiding citizens I know are responsible legal gun owners, and most own more then one firearm. One should not mix law-abiding citizens with violent criminals when pushing for new gun laws. Every new gun law is aimed at law-abiding citizens. Why? If you want to help stop violent gun-related crimes, why not start by adding a five- or 10-year mandatory prison sentence for all gun-related violent crimes?

Mr. White, in past letters you claim to be a Christian; a follower of Christ. Then you must know, yet you fail to admit, evil and man’s rebellion toward God are behind all these violent senseless mass killings of innocents.

Mr. White remains silent regarding the many violent crimes committed by Blacks against Blacks and other minorities. Why? Could it be because he is overwhelmed by the crime statistics?

With that new 11% added tax on guns, ammo and accessories, expect sales to rise before the new law goes into effect.
