Top 25 Men Miami 95, No. 16 Clemson 82

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Nijel Pack scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half, Matthew Cleveland and Norchad Omier each added 23 and Miami beat No. 16 Clemson to improve to 9-0 at home.

Kyshawn George and Bensley Joseph each added 12 for the Hurricanes (11-2, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference). Pack scored 13 of Miami’s points in a 21-6 run that gave the Hurricanes a ninepoint lead with 10 minutes left.

Joseph Girard III scored 18 points and PJ Hall scored 17 before fouling out for Clemson (11-2, 1-1). Chase Hunter scored 16 for the Tigers — who led by six at the half, by eight early in the second half.

Miami pulled away in the second half, making 12 of 14 shots in an 11-minute stretch and shooting 21 for 28 in the final 20 minutes.

Seton Hall 61, No. 23 Providence 57

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Dre Davis scored 17 points and Kadary Richmond added 16 points as Seton Hall defeated Providence.

Save for a brief stretch in the second half, the Pirates (9-5, 2-1 Big East) held the lead over the final 28 minutes. Dylan Addae-Wusu finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds while Al-Amir Dawes also added 12 points.

Josh Oduro led Providence (11-3, 2-1) with a game-high 23 points while Devin Carter had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Bryce Hopkins, the Friars’ secondlead­ing scorer, needed to be helped off the court after going down near midcourt with 14:59 remaining. He did not return.

Top 25 Women No. 6 Baylor 71, No. 23 TCU 50

WACO, Texas — Bella Fontleroy scored 16 of her 21 points in a big second-half comeback for Baylor, which beat TCU in a matchup of undefeated Big 12 teams in the Bears’ first game at their new arena.

Sarah Andrews finished with 16 points — 13 after halftime — for Baylor (13-0, 2-0 Big 12), while Yaya Felder scored 13. Dre’Una Edwards had 10 rebounds.

Sedona Prince had 20 points and 10 rebounds for TCU (14-1, 1-1) and Madison Conner had 11 points while missing all six of her 3-point attempts. Both came in averaging more than 21 points a game, making the Frogs the only team with two 20-point scorers.

No. 10 Texas 74, Texas Tech 47

LUBBOCK, Texas — Aaliyah Moore and Deyona Gaston both had their first double-doubles of the season and No. 10 Texas got off to a quick start and rolled past Texas Tech.

Moore had 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds. Gaston scored 17 on 8-of-13 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Madison Booker also had 18 points for the Longhorns (14-1, 1-1 Big 12 Conference), who bounced back from their first loss in a big way.

Bailey Maupin scored 16 for the Red Raiders (12-3, 1-1), who came in averaging 73.6 points a game.

No. 11 Kansas St. 72, Houston 38

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Ayoka Lee had 27 points with 11 rebounds and Kansas State held Houston to 14 second-half points.

Kansas State (14-1, 2-0 Big 12) led 2924 at halftime then used runs of 20-0 in the third quarter and 14-0 in the fourth to blow it open.

Serena Sundell scored 13 points and Zyanna Walker had 12 for the Wildcats. Gabby Gregory had nine assists.

Laila Blair led Houston (9-4, 0-2) with 17 points.

No. 12 UConn 94, No. 21 Creighton 50

OMAHA, Neb. — Led by red-hot Paige Buecker’s 24 points, UConn crushed its second straight ranked conference opponent and its fourth Top 25 team, rolling over Creighton.

Bueckers finished 8-of-12 shooting, including 4 of 5 3-pointers and made all four of her free throws. She also had seven assists, five rebounds and four steals with just one turnover. She is 8 of 11 behind the arc in her last two games.

Aaliyah Edwards had 16 points and 11 rebounds for her sixth doubledoub­le in seven games and the two freshmen who have helped the Huskies get back on track, Ashlynn Shade and KK Arnold, had 18 and 17 points, respective­ly.

Emma Ronsiek had 13 points and Lauren Jensen added 12 for the Bluejays (10-3, 1-2), who were outrebound­ed 45-29 and shot just 25%. A team that averages nine 3s and 75 points a game were just 4 of 24 from long range.

St. John’s 57, No. 19 Marquette 56

NEW YORK — Unique Drake scored 24 points, including the final nine for St. John’s, in the Red Storm’s win over Marquette.

Drake’s jumper with 1:21 left in the game gave St. John’s (8-7, 2-1 Big East) its first lead in the second half. It was the final basket of the game.

Frannie Hottinger led Marquette (122, 1-2) with 15 points and Liza Karlen added 14. The Golden Eagles turned it over 23 times.

No. 24 West Virginia 68, Cincinnati 53

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Kyah Watson scored 14 points, Jordan Harrison added 13 and West Virginia (13-0, 2-0 Big 12) is off to the second-best start in program history, matching the 2017-18 team

JJ Quinerly and Lauren Fields each scored 12 points for West Virginia. Harrison, coming off a career-high 21 points against Kansas, made three of West Virginia’s seven 3-pointers.

Jillian Hayes had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Cincinnati (8-5, 0-1). The Bearcats’ five losses this season have come against teams ranked in the Top 25 poll.
