Regarding racism and conservatives
Last month, I wrote: “In over 30 years of writing to this newspaper, not one conservative has acknowledged the immorality of racism while claiming to be Christians.
In May 2022, Ms. Stephens wrote: “Mr. White’s talk about racism is generally something like ‘all white conservatives are racist.’ I want him to talk about how we can all work together to make life better for poor people of every race.” You learn by taking the time to listen to others. That is not possible if Ms. Stephens misconstrues my letters.
Mr. Rios writes: “I could see the woke liberal progressive supporters in the AV and those few progressive Latino self-made leaders who would rally behind the victimhood mentality …” How can conversations about race occur if Mr. Rios says that any alleged racist acts are to be labeled as a “victimhood mentality”? My experience with racism is drowned out by Ms. Stephens/Mr. Rios writing about their experience with racism instead.
Skip Thacker wrote: “Why don’t you speak out about all the riots, looting and burning done by liberal BLM, Antifa and other folks in 2020? Do you condone this?”
I previously submitted facts to show that 90% of the riots that occurred were not caused by Black Lives Matter. Thacker continues to believe something that is not true. What does rioting have to do with my letters about racism anyway?
Regarding Thacker’s comment about answering Ms. Stephens’ question, if anybody does not answer my questions, I don’t have to answer hers or yours. Mr. Thacker did not respond to this comment: “Isn’t Guy Marsh an atheist that has not attended one church but writes about racism and other immoralities?”
[Mr. Jung’s letters] follows a pattern of his hate for Mr. Donald Trump in almost every letter he writes. That is like what Mr. Gardner wrote about Mr. Jung. However, both Thacker and Gardner state that they are Christians, but their views go in opposite of the Bible:
“There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud… having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people… evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3).
Conservatives call themselves Christians but embrace Trump that the Bible says to avoid. You wonder why Christianity today has a bad name.
