CLAUD W. SEAL, JR.
Claud W. Seal, Jr., passed away on January 1, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 80. He was a dedicated and loving father to four children and grandfather to three. He was married to Vivian Seal for 46 years. Claud was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, where he attended Catalina High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school graduation and served aboard the U.S.S. Pickaway for four years of active duty during the Vietnam War. As a Radar Equipment Foreman, Claud helped track and identify Soviet subs off the coast of the Philippines. After active duty, Claud enrolled in the Civil Engineering program at the University of Arizona at Tucson, where he met his future wife, Vivian. Claud worked as a Civil Engineer for almost fifty years in Arizona and Southern California. He specialized in concrete, soil, and designing water treatment plants as well as water reclamation projects. Claud later joined the Naval Reserves and eventually retired as a lieutenant commander in 2003. Among Claud’s many talents and interests were singing, acting, screen writing, coaching his kid's sports, building furniture, gardening, traveling, and pursuing higher education and degrees. Claud adored animals, especially the wayward sort. There was always room in the Seal household for a homeless animal. Claud is survived by his daughters, Margret and Sara, and his two sons, Eric and Nathan. The Seal family would like to thank Pasadena Highlands for the compassionate and dignified care they provided Claud over this last year.
