The Antelope Valley Press is running a weekly feature in which the interests, likes, dislikes and opinions of elementary students in a different Antelope Valley classroom are spotlighte­d. This week features Maria Fizzolio’s fifth-grade class at The IDEA Academy@Cottonwood in the Westside Union School District. Adrian De Leon

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

I would make them complete their work or they would get in trouble. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500 dollars then I would invest. Then when I have even more saved I would spend it on speed cubes so I can get better at cubing. If I have anything left I would spend it on cameras. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I was invisible for a day I would play video games and no one would notice because I’m invisible. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world I would live in Australia because it has a cubing store. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school? If I had control of the menu I would make it have steak.

Mila Del Cid

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

If I could make one rule at school that everyone would have to follow, it would be reading time every day for 20 minutes. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500, I would save up in the future. So, I can spend it on something expensive. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I could be invisible for a day, I would jump scare my friends. Even my enemies, I won’t feel bad for them. ;)

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would live in Tokyo, Japan. I would live in Tokyo, Japan because I would want to try the food and visit some places too. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

If I made the new lunch menu at school, it would be Chick-fil-A because the students don’t want a boring school lunch.

Kenleigh French

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

My one rule at school would probably be for the kids to treat their peers nicely and respect our school. What would you do if you found $500?

I would try to give the 500 dollars to my parents so they could use it. If they would not want it, I would use my money for a new softball bat. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

I would prank my parents with spooky stuff and make little messages.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why? I would live in Arizona because I have family there and I could see them every day. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

I would serve Subway subs because that is my favorite food.

Jayden Hunter

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

Minimum day every Friday so we have more of a break. What would you do if you found $500? I would give it to my mom and keep half of it. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

I would play pranks on my cousin because it would be fun.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why? Hawaii because it has nice weather there. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

Shrimp Scampi because I think other people would try my favorite food.

King Johnson

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be? No uniform. What would you do if you found $500?

I would save my money until I get to $1,000 and buy Nike Tech and shoes. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do? I would steal food and give to the homeless.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why? Italy because I would want to eat their pizza. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

I would serve pancakes, orange juice, Papa John’s Pizza, and Takis.

Nethuni Kongala Boralage

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

One rule I would make for school is that every kid should include people to hang out with them if they ask. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500 I would split it into $250, and keep half for myself to buy bubble tea and other food and drinks, and then the other half would be donated to charity! If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

Well the first thing I would do is obviously make people scared by turning off lights, and generally messing with them. But on the other hand I am a little bit scared of being ignored. But I’m sure I can last for a day! If you think positively it would be kind of.. Peaceful, as there is no one to bother you with some random questions.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

I would want to live in Paris, France because it looks really pretty at night, and it’s like my dream to see the Eiffel Tower. I also really like baguettes too! What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

A few things I would serve would be, Tteokbokki, which is a type of Korean rice cake! Another thing I would serve would definitely be fries, with a good amount of seasoning of course, and the last thing I would serve has to be ramen. For the ramen, there would be spicy ramen, kimchi ramen, carbonara ramen as well.

Viktor Lopez

If I made one rule at school that everyone had to follow, I would make the rule that people have to make sure they throw away their trash. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500, I would ask the nearest adult if they had dropped it. If no one says it was theirs, I would keep it. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I could be invisible for one day, I would probably sign up to a hide and seek competitio­n the day before. When I am invisible, I would go into the competitio­n and no one would find me.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would live in Tokyo, Japan. I would live in Tokyo because it is beautiful, and I just always wanted to go there. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

If I made the lunch menu at school, I would serve better quality food. I would also make sure the food is cooked right so people can get the food more often and enjoy it.

Pietro Makar

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be? Every Friday will be a minimum day. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500 I would ask my mom if I can keep it and if she says no I would put it where I found it and go on with my day. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I was invisible for a day I would walk around and look at things I have never seen before like the teachers lounge.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

I would like to stay in California because I do not want to make new friends in a new place. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

If I could choose what would be on the lunch menu I would choose Dominos Pizza every Friday.

Vince Ngnibogha

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

It would be for about 5 students not to be at the restroom since there can be lots of bad stuff happening like playing in the restroom. What would you do if you found $500?

First what I’ll do is AVOID it, you may never know who set up that trap especially if it’s on the car. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I were invisible, then I would not want to scare my family since that’s a bad scare. But probably I’d try to get my moms attention from afar in a room and not by swaying around an object. Afterwards I’ll explain to her. What would honestly come to mind first is to skip school but my mom will be worried and the whole family too.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

I would want to live in Italy because in class we learned about holidays around the world and Italy during Christmas is out of this world! What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

Honestly I would make 30 of each type of lunch so that people will always have their favorite meal and they aren’t hungry if they don’t like it.

Joaquin Padilla

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

If I could make one rule at school it would be to put a camera in all the classes to make sure kids pay attention in class. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500 I would give $300 to charities, $100 for school field trips and give the rest to my mom and dad. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

I would play pranks on people and also scare them. I would also play games to see if invisibili­ty changed the games or not.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

I would live in Alaska because then I could admire the northern lights. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

I would serve burgers, corn dogs, and cookies on holidays.

Dariana Panoussi

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

If I made one rule at school that everyone had to follow, it would be no dress code. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500 on the floor, I would take it and put it in my savings account because if I ask everyone would say it’s theirs. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I were invisible for a day I would go to the Amazon workshop and delivery place and collect all the Sonic plushies, slime, ice cream and chips.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would live in IRAN. I would live in Iran because it’s the country my dad grew up in and I am Persien so it would be great to visit where I’m from. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

If I served school lunch this is the menu I would make:

For an entree, I would serve Wingstop or Olive Garden. For drinks, I would put water or Boba Time. For dessert, I would serve ice cream.

Christian Sanders

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

If I could make one rule that everyone had to follow, it would be to not have homework if your grade is more than a B-. I say this because some students might not need help with understand­ing the school work. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500, I would give $250 to my parents, then split $200 between my brother, my sister, and me. I would keep the extra $50 because I was the one who found it. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I could be invisible for a day, I would stay in my house to see what my family would do and I would move things around to mess with them.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would live in Jamaica because I’ve been there before and the food was really good and it was a nice place to go swimming. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

I would serve Panda Express on Mondays, Taco Bell on Tuesdays, Mcdonald’s on Wednesdays, Chick fil a on Thursdays, and Domino’s on Friday’s.

Sebastian Soliz

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

The one rule everyone would have to follow is no dress code. What would you do if you found $500?

I would put it in my piggy bank because if I ask to see who had $500 everyone would say it was theirs. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do? I would go to the store and get Sonic plushies.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why? Guatemala because I like it there and it’s nice to me. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

Raising Cane’s and for a drink it can be any type of soda or water.

Annalise Toomer

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

If I could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow it would be that after we finish eating lunch at school we would be allowed to go to recess. I would make this rule because I think that it is unfair that even when we finish eating we must wait until the bell rings to go to recess. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500 I would save half of it and donate the other half to an animal shelter. I would save half just in case of an emergency or for college someday. I would give the rest of the money to an animal shelter because I love animals and I want to help them in any way I can. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I could be invisible for a day I would go to Japan. I would like to go to Japan because I like anime and I want to try more Japanese food. I also would want to go to Japan because when I am visible and I ask my family, they say no or wait until I am older.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would want to live in Italy. I would want to live in Italy because I love Italian food, it is really pretty there, and my favorite band is Italian. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

If I served the lunch menu at school I would make pasta. I would make pasta because it is not that hard to make and it tastes good. Plus, most kids like pasta so there would be less food waste.

Madelynn Vickers

If you could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

One rule would be that I would make everyone have 10 extra minutes of extra recess. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500 I would split the money with my family If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I were invisible I would play hide and seek with my family to see if they find me.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be in Hawaii because my nana is building a house there. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

If I could serve lunch at school I would serve Panda Express.

Mia Xol

If I could make one rule at school that everyone had to follow, it would be to complement one person a day. What would you do if you found $500?

If I found $500, I would buy a cat and a puppy because they are great companions. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?

If I could be invisible for a day, I would have fun pranking my family.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would live in Florida because I really want to go to Disney World and go to the beach. What would you serve if you made the lunch menu at school?

If I made the lunch menu at school, I would add ice cream dessert every day.
