BYU 76, No. 7 Kansas 68

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Dallin Hall and Jaxson Robinson scored 18 points apiece as BYU rallied from a 12-point deficit to beat seventh-ranked Kansas, ending the Jayhawks’ 19-game home winning streak.

The Cougars (20-8, 8-7 Big 12) took a 66-63 lead when Noah Waterman drained a 3-pointer with 2:43 left. Hunter Dickinson answered with a 3 for Kansas, but Robinson hit two free throws and Hall drained another 3, sending BYU to a win in its first trip to storied Allen Fieldhouse since December 1971.

Dickinson had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Jayhawks (21-7, 9-6), who were just 3 of 15 from 3-point range and 19 for 31 at the foul line.

BYU won despite heavy foul trouble in part by going 13 of 34 from behind the 3-point arc.

Already playing without Kevin McCullar Jr., who missed his fifth game with a bone bruise on his knee, the Jayhawks had a scare when Nick Timberlake landed hard after going up for a rebound. The thud echoed through Allen Fieldhouse, and Timberlake spent a couple of minutes in the locker room before eventually returning to the game.

Foul trouble set in for BYU in the second half. Hall picked up his fourth with 17:39 to go, and Trevin Knell got his fourth — after a double-technical with Dickinson — just minutes later. But the Jayhawks were unable to take advantage, not only struggling at the foul line but going more than eight minutes without a field goal.

BYU had another technical foul called on its bench with 7:50 left — and Harris made both of those free throws.

No. 1 Houston 67, Cincinnati 59

HOUSTON — L.J. Cryer scored 22 points, J’Wan Roberts added 15 and top-ranked Houston won its sixth straight game by beating Cincinnati.

One day after ascending to No. 1 in the AP Top 25 for the first time this season, the Cougars (25-3, 12-3 Big 12) extended their conference lead to 1½ games over Iowa State. They’ve won 21 consecutive home games, the longest active streak in the nation.

Cryer had 15 points in the first half and Houston led 26-17 at the break. Jamal Shead finished with nine points and 11 assists for the Cougars.

Viktor Lakhin and Simas Lukosius each scored 11 for Cincinnati (16-12, 5-10), which has lost five of six.

No. 16 Kentucky 91, Mississippi State 89

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Reed Sheppard made a runner from just inside the foul line with less than a second remaining and finished with a careerhigh 32 points, giving Kentucky a wild victory over Mississippi State.

Josh Hubbard tied the game at 89 with 11 seconds remaining by hitting his seventh 3-pointer for Mississippi State. Hubbard had career bests of seven 3s and 34 points.

Kentucky led 85-78 with 49 seconds remaining before Hubbard hit a 3. After Sheppard hit two free throws, Mississippi State’s Cameron Matthews converted a three-point play that cut the deficit to 87-84. The Bulldogs closed within a point after Tolu Smith made two free throws, before two more by Sheppard with 17 seconds left set up the frantic finish.

Antonio Reeves scored 21 points for the Wildcats (20-8, 10-5 SEC). Smith had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Mississippi State (19-9, 8-7).

No. 20 San Diego State 72, San Jose State 64

SAN DIEGO — Jaedon LeDee had 27 points — 21 in the second half — and 11 rebounds as San Diego State held off last-place San Jose State to keep pace in the tight Mountain West Conference race.

The defending regular-season and MWC Tournament champion Aztecs (22-7, 11-5) beat the Spartans for the 13th straight time to remain just behind conference co-leaders Utah State and Boise State. The Aztecs play at UNLV next Tuesday night and then finish the regular season at home against Boise State on March 8.

Myron Amey Jr. scored 17 points for San Jose State (9-20, 2-14).

No. 21 Dayton 80, Davidson 66

DAYTON, Ohio — Koby Brea came off the bench to score 17 points, including 5-for-9 shooting from 3-point range, and Dayton bounced back from a road loss with a comfortable win over Davidson.

Enoch Cheeks led five other players in double figures with 15 points for Dayton, which went 12 of 28 on 3s. Leading scorer DaRon Holmes II had a low-key first half but finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The 71-67 loss by the Flyers at George Mason last Wednesday dropped them five spots in the AP Top 25 and one game out of first place in the Atlantic 10. But well-rested Dayton (22-5, 12-3) had five days off to get ready for this one, and it showed early.

Connor Kochera led Davidson (1513, 5-10) with 18 points.

No. 22 Utah State 77, Fresno State 73, OT

FRESNO — Great Osobor had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Darius Brown II drained two clutch 3-pointers and Utah State outlasted Fresno State in overtime to remain atop the Mountain West Conference standings.

The Aggies (23-5) and Boise State are both 11-4 in league play with three games left in the regular season, but Utah State swept its two matchups with the Broncos.

Isaiah Pope scored inside for Fresno State to open overtime before Mason Falsev answered with a three-point play and Osobor made 1-of-2 free throws to make it 69-67. Xavier Dusell answered with a layup to tie it, Falsev split a pair of foul shots and Pope again scored in the paint to give the Bulldogs a 71-70 lead with 3 minutes to go.

Josh Uduje made 1 of 2 from the foul line and then hit a fade-away jumper in the lane. Pope made a layup to tie it at 73-all with 51 seconds remaining. Brown answered with a step-back 3-pointer 17 seconds later to give the Aggies the lead for good.

Uduje and Falsev each scored 15 points for Utah State.

The Bulldogs defense forced a shot-clock violation with 1:20 to play in regulation and Fresno State missed two shots, but each time got the offensive rebound, before Colimerio was fouled and hit two free throws that gave Fresno State a 63-59 lead with 52 seconds left.

Falsev answered with a layup 8 seconds later and then, after a miss on the other end, made 1-of-2 free throws with 12 seconds remaining. Dusell made both ends of a 1-and1 but Brown banked in a contested 3 with 2 seconds to go that made it 65-all and forced overtime.

Isaiah Hill scored 21 points before fouling out in the opening minute of overtime for Fresno State (11-17, 4-11) and Dusell added 16 points. Leo Colimerio and Pope each scored 15.
