Littlerock High planning community resource fair

LITTLEROCK — Littlerock High School will present “Hop into Spring @ The Rock,” the inaugural community resource fair on Saturday.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at the school’s softball field, 10833 East Ave. R.

The first 500 people will get a free breakfast. Food trucks and other food vendors will be on site. There will also be an Easter egg hunt for children of all ages, photos with the Easter bunny, face painting, arts and crafts tables and many other games put on by Littlerock High student groups and clubs.

“The main purpose of this event is to have as many community resources as possible available to our students, families and the community all in one spot,” wrote Janet Flores, educationa­l community worker for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, which is co-located at Littlerock High.

More than 25 agencies have committed to be at the event, including the Department of Mental Health, Antelope Valley Family YMCA, Child and Family Center, Antelope Valley Partners for Health, Children’s Bureau, Valley Oasis and South Bay Center for Counseling.

Egg hunt times are 9:30 a.m. for children up to 2 years old; 9:50 a.m. for children 3 to 5 years old; 10:10 a.m. for children 6 to 8 years old; 10:30 a.m. for children 9 to 12 years old; and 10:50 a.m. for children 13 and older.

Participan­ts can receive raffle tickets by participat­ing in the games as well as visiting resource tables to be redeemed for prizes. A raffle will be held toward the end of the event. Children can also earn tickets to exchange for prizes.
