Apple Magazine - - Summary -

Apple added the butterfly mechanism to its 2018 MacBook Air, bringing it in line with its MacBook and MacBook Pro models and offering more comfort and control whilst maintaining a thin chassis. Apple claims that the keyboard offers four times more key stability than the traditional scissor mechanism on a keyboard and that its model is more comfortable and responsive to touch. An additional nice-to-have feature is also included - a LED-backlit keyboard display, with an automatic light sensor to help you type in low lighting.

A 20% larger Force Touch trackpad is also included in the new Air, allowing you to interact with your Mac using different pressures. It’s the biggest trackpad on the Air to date and gives users more control and freedom, without compromising on the device’s style or structure.
