W.P. ANDERSON, 74, of Little Rock passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita (Hale) Anderson, of Little Rock; two sons, John Anderson and his wife, Tracy, and Mark Anderson, all of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchild­ren, Zachary and Mckinley Anderson; brother, G. Frank Anderson Jr. and wife, Virginia, of Richardson, Texas; and nephew, Andy Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, G.F. and Eleanor Anderson. He was a resident engineer with the Arkansas Highway Department and served as the City Engineer for Little Rock. W.P. enjoyed reading, watching baseball and football, but mostly spending time with his family and especially his grandchild­ren.

KOSTY BOOKALIS, 90, of Little Rock, passed away Thursday April 19, 2012. The amazing music man, Kosty Bookalis & The Stylemaste­rs, was also a member of the Eagles Lodge, American Legion and VFW.

Preceding him in death was his first beloved wife of 44 years, Juanita, whom he will be buried with in Oklahoma, in later years beloved, Dorothy Barbeire. He will be missed by his three children and extended family.

In celebratio­n, with music of The Stylemaste­rs playing and pictures of his life, we will be having services at the Eagles Lodge, 6200 Aerie off 65th Street, at 11 a.m. Monday. Arrangemen­ts are by Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth.

JAMIE BRUNT, age 68, of Maumelle, died Thursday, April 19, 2012.

He was born Jan. 31, 1944, at Black Springs, the son of Sherman Brunt and Cora Barnett Brunt. On Dec. 31, 1966, he was married to Carol Waggoner. He was preceded in death by two infant sons; his brother, Tommy Brunt; and his sister, Carolyn Isom.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, Third Recon, in Vietnam. He retired from Entergy and later was self employed as a power industry consultant. With a strong belief in education, he received his bachelor's degree from Arkansas College, now Lyon College, and his MBA from the University of Central Arkansas. He was a Baptist in his faith.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Brunt of Maumelle; two daughters, Amy Brunt and her husband, Robert Airo, of North Little Rock and Dake Brunt of Little Rock; his grandson, Caleb Brunt; and his brother, Dewayne Brunt of Glenwood.

KARLA MARIE OWEN CHAMBERS, age 60, of Little Rock, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012. She was born June 28, 1951, in Benton, Ark. Karla was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ardeth Ridling; brother, Joseph Ridling; mother-in-law, Louise Chambers and her niece, Hannah Ridling.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Chambers; sons, Zach Owen (Stephanie) and Josh Owen (Suzanne); brothers and sisters, Helen Free (Bobby), Johnnie Atwood (Wes), Sonny Ridling (Kim) and Jim Ridling (Cathy); fatherin-law, Mack Chambers; grandchild­ren, Mason, Megan, Madi, Jaxen, Logan and Landon; nieces and nephews, Rhonda, Jin, Piki, Sonny B., Terry, Mark, Chris, Dana, Douglas, Karen, Jill, Justin, Courtney and Erin; 22 greatniece­s and great-nephews; numerous cousins and her special companion, Lizzy.

VELVA DEAN SNOW CROUCH, 80, of North Little Rock and Fox joined her Lord and her husband in Heaven on Friday, April 20, 2012. She was born on Feb. 26, 1932, in Dublin, Ark., to Melvin and Minnie Snow. She was a member of 18th Street Freewill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. HAROLD LEWIS FRANKS of North Little Rock, was born on May 14, 1919, in Oil City, La., to Lela and Lewis Amos Franks. He passed away April 20, 2012, in Heber Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marguerite Spurgeon Franks. Harold served as Master Sergeant in the Army of the United States during World War II where he received the American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He spent his profession­al career in insurance sales and continued to work at Sam’s Club as a part-time food demonstrat­or upon his retirement. He also volunteere­d with Meals on Wheels and at the Patrick Henry Hays Senior Citizens Center. He attended First Assembly of God Church of North Little Rock where he was a member of the Sanctuary Class and enjoyed Keenagers pot lucks.

He is survived by son, George Ronald Franks and wife Terri of Heber Springs, Ark., and daughter Debra Ann Franks Reynolds and husband Sam of Bedford, Mass.; one granddaugh­ter, Lara Hum and husband Jason of North Little Rock, Ark., and three grandchild­ren, Madelyn, Sydney and Jonah Hum and three sisters, Olene Bateman and Elaine Davis of Lindale, Texas, and Christine Nelson of Tempson, Texas.

JAMES CARROLL GEARY, of North Little Rock, passed away on April 19, 2012. He was born on Aug. 23, 1938, to his mother, Juanita Anderson Geary and his father, James Luther Geary in North Little Rock, Ark., where he lived most of his life. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1956.

He married Patricia Ann Edmonson on Aug. 28, 1959, and they began their life as a family. Together they had five children and seven grandchild­ren. Many activities were enjoyed by him and his family through the years. James was a member of several square dance clubs, including the Wilder Bunch. He enjoyed attending activities of his children, from ball games to skating competitio­ns.

James was a hardworkin­g man who retired from Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist after 35 years of service. He also volunteere­d much of his time to work with the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of America, Modern Woodmen of America, 4-H as well as many schools and churches. He was a joke-loving man who was often seen laughing and teasing his children and grandchild­ren, among others and was always ready with a good story. In his later years he loved to read, spend time with his family, and play with his dogs, Pixie, Topaz, Gigi and Sadie who will miss him.

James was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Ann Geary; his parents; a son, Daniel Daman Geary; a brother, Ronald Glen Geary and his grandparen­ts, Murrell Roland and Maude Henry Anderson. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Claire Geary of North Little Rock; son, James Craig Geary and his wife, Shannon Linn Geary of Little Rock; daughter, Ronni Linn Geary of North Little Rock; daughter, Shelly Lyn Gough and her husband, Howard Edwin Gough of North Little Rock; grandson, James Chase Geary of Denton, Texas, and his girlfriend, Lindsey Sonnamaker; granddaugh­ter, Jamie Elizabeth Geary of Little Rock; grandson, Buster Erick Geary and wife, Amanda Lynn Geary of Springdale; grandson, Aaron Carroll Geary of North Little Rock; grandson, Trey Austin Geary of Little Rock; grandson, Jeremy Cole Fulmer of North Little Rock and his fiancee, Brittany Lynn May; grandson, Jeffery Gage Fulmer of North Little Rock; greatgrand­son, Daxton James Geary of Springdale; sister, Mary Louise Williams of North Little Rock; brother, Hollis Lynn Geary of Hanahan, South Carolina; and sister, Debra Cheffy of Hanahan.

BRIAN FREDERICK SUDDERTH, 56, died on April 16, 2012. Born in Arrington, England, he was the son of Lt. Col. Ralph M. Sudderth Jr. and Emily Spindler Sudderth.

He attended Hall High School in Little Rock and graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. He then attended the University of Arkansas Medical School and served his family practice residency in Asheville, N.C. He practiced medicine for almost 30 years, first in Bryant, Ark., and was currently at Family Practice Associates in Benton. He was also serving as Medical Director at the Arkansas Health Center and volunteere­d at the Christian Community Care Clinic.

He enjoyed sports, caring for his patients, and writing haiku poetry. Brian had a great passion for life and tried to live each day to the fullest. His passing will leave a void in many lives.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparen­ts: Fred and Emily Burrow Spindler of Little Rock, Ralph Manning and Annie Beam Sudderth; and his father. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Reecer Sudderth, and their children, Lauren Marie and James Manning of Denver. He is also survived by: his mother, Emily “Robin” Sudderth of Little Rock; his sister, Kimball Sudderth Ford and her husband, Mabry, of Memphis; his brother, Ralph Sudderth III and his wife, Lorell, of Little Rock; and scores of cousins, friends and SAE brothers he called family. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend and doctor.

BEEBE — Aldah Mae Hogue, 82 of Beebe, Ark., passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012. She was born April 23, 1929 in Lonoke, Ark., to the late E.J. and Luella Hart Staton.

Aldah loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them outdoors, fishing, gardening and decorating. She was retired from K.C. Baking Powder Company, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist ChurchNort­h Little Rock.

BENTON — Veral L. Hines 76, of Benton, passed away Monday, April 16, in Bryant. He was born Aug. 4, 1935 in Thayer, Kan. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad for 40 1/2 years as a railroad clerk.

BENTON — James Edward Ward, 78, of Benton passed away on April 19, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born on Jan. 19, 1934 to the late Hollis Edward and Jessie Lee Ward in Calhoun City, Miss. James retired from the Bryant School District after 28 years of employment. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and going fishing. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. James most treasured times were spent with his family and he loved spoiling his grandbabie­s.

Mr. Ward is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Joe Lee Ward. CABOT — Marion Dewey Poole, 66, of Cabot, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012. He was born June 28, 1945 in Newport, to the late Marion and Ethel Mae Young Poole. Mr. Poole served in the United States Air Force as a small arms instructor before becoming an air traffic controller. During his tenure with the USAF, he received a Commendati­on Medal, an Achievemen­t Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. After his retirement from the Air Force, he continued working and later retired from the FAA at Little Rock National Airport. Mr. Poole enjoyed horses, shooting sports and spending time with his grandchild­ren. He also enjoyed motorcycle­s and flying and was a licensed pilot.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Poole was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Gann and a grandson, Greg Iosbaker.

Mr. Poole is survived by his wife, Edie Thompson Poole; his children, Kim Hodges of Searcy, Pam Iosbaker of Anchorage, Alaska, Kay Bodan and Shane Phillips Sr., both of Cabot. Also surviving him are his four grandchild­ren, Nichole Payne, Stephen Atwell, Shane Phillips II and Fischer Hodges; one great granddaugh­ter, Emma Payne and one brother, Howard Poole of Russell.

ENGLAND — Tina Marie Rowe born on June 21, 1968, lost her battle with mitochondr­ial myopathy April 19, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her son, Austin; grandfathe­r Daddy Clark, James A. Clark Jr., Uncle Rusty Clark, and grandmothe­r Thelma Taber. Tina is survived by her father Harold Rowe, brother Brandon Rowe, grandmothe­r Betty Clark all of England, mother and step father Connie and Lemoin Unger of Little Rock.

GREENBRIER — Faye Belle Ethridge Kelso, 94, of Greenbrier, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012. Born in Wooster, Ark., on Feb. 10, 1918, she was a daughter to the late Thomas Richard and Fannie Belle (Hickman) Ethridge. Faye Belle spent eight years teaching on a Navajo Indian reservatio­n in the Southwest. Growing up, she was always drawn toward hard work. She grew up on a 640 acre farm near Ethridge Hill. She had three brothers and two sisters. The family raised peaches, grapes and apples. Faye Belle chose to work outside with her brothers on the farm, helping pick fruit and spread pesticide. For money, they sold peaches for 50 cents a bushel. She attended a few local schools before transferri­ng to Greenbrier High School in the 10th grade. There she met her future husband Chester. She graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College and worked as a teacher in various local schools. She married in May 1947. The couple had a son and a daughter, Chester’s job took him from Biloxi, Miss., to Wichita Falls, Texas, and finally to Many Farms, Ariz. She said they chose to move to the 16-million-acre reservatio­n, the largest in the U.S., because they “decided it would be good to go and learn about another culture.” They were often invited to local ceremonies, including pow-wows and funerals. Once they went to a blessing ceremony for her husband’s friend, a World War II codetalker, when the man moved into his new home. Faye Belle said “The best part of it all was learning that everybody didn’t live like you, in an AngloCommu­nity in Arkansas,”

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Chester James Kelso; two sisters, Vivian Davenport and Eileen Brannon and three brothers Ralph, Frank and Gordon Ethridge.

HOT SPRINGS — Carlos “Carl” Henry Larkin of Hot Springs, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012, at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Blanche Larkin; and his wife of 50 years, Dolores Nancy Larkin.

He is survived by daughters, Donna Larkin of Sherwood, Ark. and Kathie Larkin Turner (Craig) of Redlands, Calif.; brothers, Calvin Larkin (Joan) and Lawrence Larkin of New Jersey; plus several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Kathy Moore.

Carl was previously employed as an engineer by various companies including but not limited to Prestolite Wire and Cable in Paragould, Ark.; Reynolds Metals in Hot Springs, Ark.; Kaiser in Portsmouth, R.I.; Okonite Company in Richmond, Ky.; RCA in Woodbridge, N.J., and Tung-sol Electric in Bloomfield, N.J. He worked until the age of 77, when he retired to become caregiver to his wife.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineerin­g, plus a master of science degree in management from Newark College of Engineerin­g in Newark, N.J. Carl served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1948 and was honorably discharged after his father passed. In addition, he served in the Air Force Reserve from 1952-1955 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Second Lieutenant. Later, he enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve under the Cross Service Program, where he served from 1974-1976.

Carl was an exceptiona­lly intelligen­t person and diligent worker, always learning of the latest engineerin­g developmen­ts that could improve the performanc­e output of each company for which he worked. He was very generous to individual­s and charities and enjoyed giving special surprises to family and friends. After raising his children, Carl began the second half of his life by traveling with Dolores and taking her dancing at the Elks every Friday night. Carl had a wonderful sense of humor and all who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember him with a smile.

He was a member of St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church, and a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks #380 in Hot Springs.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary starting at 6:30 p.m. in CaruthHale Funeral Home. PARKIN — Trilby Joyce Brenner, 84, born Oct. 7, 1927, died at home in Parkin on Friday. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, John A. Brenner. He was also her second-grade boyfriend. Her greatest joys were her three children, 10 grandchild­ren and two greatgrand­daughters, as well as numerous close friends. She was valedictor­ian in 1945 of Parkin High School, where she was an all-state basketball player. She enjoyed golf, cooking, bowling, bream fishing, any Razorback sport, card games, and all activities in which her children and grandchild­ren participat­ed.

She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile. Trilby was a member of the First Baptist Church in Parkin, and she was active throughout her adult life in the First United Methodist Church in Parkin. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher, and was active in PTA, several bridge clubs and the Parkin Garden Club. She had a BSBA in accounting from the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

Trilby always put her family first. She loved nothing better than large get-togethers with family and friends, and she could host parties in a seemingly effortless fashion. She will be missed beyond words.

She is survived by her husband, John A.; daughters: Debbie Crisler of Yazoo City, Miss., Brenda Slabaugh of Wynne; son, John Brenner Jr. and wife, Dawn, of Marion; sister, Laurice Jackson of Columbia, S.C.; 10 grandchild­ren; and two great granddaugh­ters. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Arthur and Helen Mcclure Earnheart; sisters, Beatrice Kirby, Fern Coleman, Muriel White; brothers, W. A. Earnheart, Robert Earnheart and Thomas “Gip” Earnheart.

STUTTGART — Shirley Ann Lee went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2012, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home. Shirley battled pancreatic cancer from the fall of 2009 until her death.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ola Smith; sisters, Louise Lay and Robbye Bland; and brother, Edwin Smith.

Shortly after, she served as the office manager of Lee Truck Broker, Inc. until her retirement in 2008. She then spent her time volunteeri­ng as a client coordinato­r for Heaven’s Helping Hands Ministries Food Program. She enjoyed yachting with her husband, attending Dallas Conway football games and cooking and fellowship­ping with her family and friends.

Mrs. Campbell was born Aug. 20, 1927, at home in Mount Vernon, Ark., to Lawson and Deborah Jane Bartley Brewer. She taught school in Mount Vernon during the World War II era. She married Robert Arch Campbell Jr., on May 12, 1950, and they lived in Little Rock for their entire married life. She also lived in Conway, Ark., before moving to Longview. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the Church of Christ, and was a founding member of Geyer Springs Church of Christ in Little Rock. She also attended Robinson and Center Church of Christ in Conway. For many years, she worked at the Bible Center Bookstore in Little Rock, serving the Churches of Christ in central Arkansas. Mrs. Campbell was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and a doting grandmothe­r, and her love expanded to include her son-in-law and her extended family.

Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob, in 2001; her in-laws, Judge and Mrs. Robert Arch Campbell Sr.; sister, Arcie Brewer Starr; brother, Alton Brewer; and sister-in-law, Julia Ann Hudson.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by her daughter, Robin Campbell Nunn, and her husband, James, of Longview; grandchild­ren, Hunter Alexander Nunn of Fayettevil­le, Ark., and Emily Claire Nunn of Dallas, Texas; brother, Austin Brewer of Heber Springs, Ark., and his wife, Barbara Ruth; and sister-in-law, Doris Brewer of West Haven, Conn. In addition, Mrs. Campbell is survived by her sister’s children; Lenora Brainard, Pat Cocklin, Alta Faye Howery, Shirley Pate, Debbie Paternoste­r, Ed Starr, and Ted Starr; by her brother Alton’s sons, Bill Brewer and Ken Brewer; and by her husband’s nieces Becky Harris and Celeste O’neal, and nephew Rayford Hudson.
