New ownership expands salon to offer clients more

Although some things at Jo-la-ru Salon and Retail Center are changing, the one thing that won’t change is the salon’s service.

Brad and Stacy Heston recently purchased the salon from Joann Mitchell, who previously owned the business for more than 40 years.

“Joann built wonderful relationships with all of Jo-la-ru’s guests, and the salon will continue to service the needs of everyone as we continue to build new relationships,” Brad said.

Conway’s largest salon and retail outlet for professional hair-care products, Jo-laRu has more than 2,500 square feet and 10 fully trained stylists who specialize in the newest trends and styles in cuts and color. The salon also offers manicures and pedicures.

“We are currently updating the salon and bringing on additional stylists to expand our abilities to provide the best for our clients,” Brad said. “This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the community because our customers are the reason this business is where it is today.”

Jo-la-ru offers a full line of top haircare and styling products, including Matrix, Biolage, Pureology, Redken, Sebastian, Chi, Kenra, Bed Head, Nioxin, Paul Mitchell, Moroccanoil and more. The salon also sells an assortment of combs, brushes, hairdryers, flat irons and curling irons.

Appointments are recommended, but walk-in clients are always welcome. The salon can be booked to accommodate wedding parties. The staff is also available to assist with hair and makeup for funerals. The salon and retail center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
