Faulkner County Library System
Local libraries offer fun for all ages
For a large selection of books and a wide offering of special programs for children and adults, many turn to the Faulkner County Library System.
“I encourage people to read both for entertainment and education,” said Ruth Voss, director of libraries.
The Faulkner County Library System is headquartered in Conway, with five branches in Greenbrier, May flower, Mount Vernon, Twin Groves and Vilonia, as well as two libraries in Van Buren County: Clinton and Damascus. The libraries offer a wide selection of children’s, young-adult and adult books to suit many tastes, as well as a variety of programs for all ages. Throughout the week, there are story times for children, including “Mother Goose on the Loose” for those younger than 2 years old, and “Toddler Time” for children who are 2 years old. Numerous story times, in addition to craft classes, are offered for children in preschool.
Many programs are offered for schoolage children.
The library has special summer programs and provides ongoing book clubs and anime clubs, as well as game nights and movie nights throughout the year.
Adult s have a ful l schedule of educational, as well as entertainment, opportunities at the library, including book, poetry, art and creative writing clubs; exercise, computer, crochet and knitting, art, American Sign Language, Tai Chi and yoga classes; a music program that has an established Pickin’ Porch program; a documentary movie and discussion group; and genealogy research assistance.
