Quitman Catfish Barn

Buffet offers plenty of food options, friendly service

- 199 Rosebud Road • Quitman 501-589-3497

The Quitman Catfish Barn offers more than just catfish — a whole lot more.

Patrons will find a 49-foot-long, all-youcan-eat buffet that includes appetizers, a salad bar and entree items, including smoked ribs, boneless chicken breast, and seafood like peel-and-eat and fried shrimp, catfish steaks and fillets and more.

The restaurant is proud to serve 100 percent USA farm-raised catfish.

Healthy eaters can also choose from baked fish, baked potatoes, rice and gumbo.

Top it off with a variety of desserts, including cobblers and banana pudding. There are also desserts for diabetics.

“We offer great food, friendly service and so many different items to choose from,” co-owner Angie Mix said. “Catfish and frog legs are the most popular items.”

Mix owns the restaurant with Dave Olsen. Last July, they celebrated four years of owning the restaurant.

“Business has been really good,” Mix said.

While the Saturday buffet has crawdads, the Sunday buffet features regular buffet choices, as well as fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, yeast rolls and homemade chicken and dumplings.

Three separate, private dining rooms are available and can be reserved at no charge.

Members of youth groups, churches or school groups who need to raise money are invited to wait tables for tips, and diners 55 years and older receive a discount.

The restaurant is open from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
