Reasonable prices, quality service set business apart

When Allen Shaver saw an opportunity to provide scooters, ATVS and side-by-sides to the area, he opened Hometown ATV and More in Conway with reasonable prices and prompt customer service.

“What sets us apart from the other ATV and scooter shops are the price and the service,” he said.

Hometown ATV specializes in scooters, ATVS and side-by-sides. The business also has a wide selection of go-karts and motorcycles, along with accessories.

Hometown ATV provides a large selection of high-quality brands, including Honda, Yamaha, Taotao, Qlink, Kinroad and JCL.

The store now carries Country Clipper, a commercial line of zero-turn mowers that have a flip-up deck and are controlled by one hand with a joystick.

Aside from its wide selection of small vehicles, Hometown ATV also sells parts for Honda and Yamaha and can repair all brands, including Chinese units.

Shaver said many people think parts are not available for Chinese units, but Hometown ATV can get parts for most models.

The store’s five-person staff helps make purchasing and repairing easy for customers. Shaver said although there are other stores who sell some of the same products, Hometown ATV is different.

“There are other people out there selling some of the same products we do, but they do not stand behind what they sell,” he said.

Shaver opened Hometown ATV more than six years ago because of a need in the lower-end market of the River Valley. He said he enjoys this line of business because it is different from working as a building contractor.

“I get to have fun now,” Shaver said. “This is just a fun business.”

The store is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
