Hometown singer headlines Fourche River Days

Fourche River Days wouldn’t be complete without great music. Headlining this year’s event is Jason Campbell and Singletree. The country music singer attended Perryville High School and has worked in Nashville, Tenn., as a singer and songwriter. In 2002, country music star Sammy Kershaw sang a couple of Campbell’s tunes on his I Want My Money Back album.

Jason Campbell and Singletree have opened for various artists, such as David Allen Coe, Billy Currington, Mel Mcdaniel, Johnny Lee, John Daly, Mickey Gilley, Restless Heart, Clint Black and many others. Campbell will close out the festivitie­s at 8 p.m. Saturday. The music will kick off Friday night with a performanc­e by Liquid Kitty. The Little Rock-based band formed last year and plays a range of music genres, including rock, country, blues, Motown and more — classic favorites from the ’ 50s and ’ 60s all the way to current hits. Liquid Kitty will take the stage at 6 p.m. Friday. Closing out the music on Friday will be Wallace Poole — A Tribute to Willie Nelson. this show is a one-of-a-kind tribute to the red-headed stranger and has gained popularity across the United States, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.the show covers several periods from Nelson’s life, including selections such as “Whiskey River,” “Stardust” and “Georgia.” The show is a can’t-miss for Willie Nelson fans. Wallace Poole will play at 8 p.m. Friday. Saturday’s music will kick off at 9:45 a.m. with the 113 South Gospel Band.

At 11 a.m., Carrie Jo Frith will take the stage with her country-infused pop styling.

Elizabeth Shadell will open the afternoon entertainm­ent at 12:30 p.m.

At 2 p.m., Mommy Magic — Clown & Ventriloqu­ist will perform her family-friendly magic show on the main stage. Mommy Magic is an award-winning entertaine­r who delights crowds with her wacky puppet friends Stanley the Ding Dong Dodo Bird, Patriotic Annie and Betty the Buzzard.

Jay & The Twilighter­s will take the Fourche River Days stage at 4 p.m. The popular group performs songs from the ’ 50s and ’60s, gospel and more.

At 6 p.m., 2010 Johnson County Idol winner Rebecca Rohlman will perform.

Closing out the music at 8 p.m. will be Jason Campbell and Singletree. Following their performanc­e, a fireworks display will finish off Fourche River Days activities.
