Rogers’ Moore named Principal of Year
ROGERS — Rogers High School Principal Robert Moore has been named the 2012 Arkansas High School Principal of the Year.
Moore’s nomination stood out for several reasons, said Richard Abernathy, Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators executive director, who presented the award at a ceremony at the school.
Superintendent Janie Darr wrote in the nomination letter that Moore is both strong in conviction and an advocate for all students, and reviewers were impressed by the way he worked to involve both the staff and community in the school.
The school’s drop-out rates have dipped and test scores are high. Also, staff members write evaluations of the principal for his annual review and Moore posts the results. That exemplifies transparency, Abernathy said.
