LR 5th-grader top Google doodler

- CYNTHIA HOWELL

Kouadio Kondo, 11, a fifthgrader at Little Rock’s Otter Creek Elementary, is the state winner in the “Doodle 4 Google” competition.

His entry — which turned the letters of the Google logo into drawings of alien robots — was among 114,000 entries nationwide.

As the Arkansas winner, Kouadio received a T-shirt with his drawing on it and the opportunity for an all-expenses-paid trip this month to New York City.

A nationwide public vote will decide the country’s favorite doodle from all 50 state winners. Online voting is taking place through Thursday. The highest ranking doodler from each grade group will be named a national finalist. Google will announce the national finalists in an awards ceremony May 17 in New York City.

Kouadio’s entry is available for viewing and voting at www.google. com/doodle4google/vote. html#d=d2-2.
